Dos Ojitos – Atilano Lopez with Los Cenzontles

The enormously successful Cuatro Maestros Touring Festival was a music and dance performance festival by 4 celebrated elder master folk artists representing their respective Mexican and Mexican-American regional traditions accompanied by members of their own groups as well as youth group Los Cenzontles. The Cuatro Maestros Touring Festival created quite a stir in seven California cities including the California Plaza, Los Angeles, presented by Grand Performances; Cal State University Sacramento; Arte Americas, Fresno; Mexican Heritage Plaza, San Jose; Cal State University Monterey Bay; the City of San Fernando; the Julia Morgan Theater, Berkeley. The traditions represented, rural in their origins, have made a tremendous contribution to the richness of Mexican music. This Touring Festival is a unique opportunity to learn personally about these traditions and the cultures from which they arose as well as celebrate their passing to new generations of artists. Each of these celebrated four regional elder masters learned his tradition in a family setting and is now passing them on to future generations. The artists presented were: Santiago Jimenez Jr. and his Tex-Mex conjunto, Julian Gonzalez with traditional mariachi; Atilano Lopez and Alma Purepecha, and Andres Vega Delfin and Mono Blanco with the Son Jarocho.

trustfull and savety card phone please. thanks

Even though I have defeated the debt collection lawsuit brought against us, (see: “DEFAULT !!! Escaping the Debt Trap and Avoiding Bankruptcy”)… search.barnesandnoble.com www.amazon.com … collection agencies STILL try to trick me into settling the “alleged debt”, or sending payments… either of which would reset the Statute of Limitations and make us vulnerable to another lawsuit. THEY DON’T FOOL ME… LOL !!! Here is the way I turn their phone calls into FUN and AMUSEMENT …. XD XD XD

In Sept, I’m going to be in London for a year to study. Here’s my dilemma: I want to keep a local (Ohio, USA) number for friends and family. I currently have Sprint and their international plans suck, honestly. I want to be able to make international calls on it also. Is it better just to get an cell when I get over there with a new (English) number, and with what company should I go? What’s the cheapest way to keep in touch with my non-email using family, calling card or take sprint with me? Or another cell company in the US, if they have better international plans? What’s the best satelite phone to get, they all look the same but is there a better quality for the amount? Basically, what would you or have you done in my case.

One third of a century ago this month, Rory Gallagher performed ‘Pistol Slapper blues’ (& ‘Barley and the Grape Rag’) on acoustic guitar, at his regular annual gig at City Hall, in his home town, Cork city, Ireland. Throughout the seventies, the annual Rory Gallagher City Hall gig was ‘bigger than football’ (check out the crowd chorus at the end), with young people throughout Cork, going along every year ‘religiously’, to see local hero Rory perform to his fans. Hopefully, this previously unheard audio track illustrates the enthusiasm, hysteria, electricity and two-way communication that went on between Rory and his home town fans. In the absence of video, images and text shown here are (humbly) ‘borrowed’ from the absolute best musicians magazine of the seventies and eighties, International Musician and Recording World (IMRW). Interview by Eamonn Percival. In the interview, Rory says he bought his first Fender Stratocaster second-hand in 1962 for around 100 pounds. That year, a new 3 bedroomed, semi-detached house would have cost about 2000 pounds in Cork, so that guitar was a huge investment. IMRW featured Rory regularly, and grew, from its initial launch in the UK, to serve USA for some years before its sad demise. Make sure to search out and buy issues of these magazines, if you can find them anywhere, as the wonderful interviews are reliable records of the thoughts of music artists of the day, not to mention the gear then used by musicians. Hopefully, some day, these

I’m going to purchase this prepaid phone card: http://www.zaptel.com/zaptel/index.cfm?fuseaction=customer.product&product_code=ABSOLUTEWORLDCARD&from_country_id=208&from_country=Italy&to_country=USA%20-%2048%20States&to_country_id=1&conversation=5&MinuteRate=0.135&connect_fee=0&Denoms=-25

Do I need to get a sim card also? Will T-mobile charge me for calling from Europe? Or should I just use the hotel telephones?

Thanks!

Since Nancy Pelosi became Speaker Trillion has been added to the national Debt. The interest alone on this money will mean that taxpayers in USA for the next 20 generations will be heavily burdened if the debt is not Repudiated. If the debt is repudiated, the US government would cease to exist as a solvent going concern. With no ability to borrow from anybody (even China) and with a FICO score of 200, Uncle Sam would be sleeping at a shelter, and eating at the church kitchen.

But that’s not the problem!

If the US government had gotten Trillion worth of goods, services, or benefits to show for the money it has spent, the country would be a pretty decent shape.

Instead the government appears to have gotten Zero dollars worth of ANYTHING for the Trillion it has spent. Nada, Zilch, Nothing to show for that money.

Karzai at least has got his bags of cash from Iran. He may be playing both sides, like a total crook, but like Bonnie and Clyde at least he’s got bags of money to show for it.

Pelosi has nothing to show for the Trillion.

Here’s why.

When agencies go to the Congress for funding, there is about 30 seconds worth of discussion about what they plan to do with the money, how they will spend it, what benefits will be obtained and by whom. The Official from the Agency then says "We are going to work on that".

Congress says "Oh, OK fine."

Then the Congress people start making speeches for the record about how great they are.

This goes on for 3 or 4 days.

Then the stupid agency gets their money.

That’s not how venture capital firms work. If they did work that way, they would be out of business real fast.

Venture capitalists have actually had jobs. They have met payrolls. They have sold products. They have made deals.

They want to know everything about how the money will be used and most particularly they want to know what outcomes will be attained.

If a prospective borrower said "I plan to work on that, let me get back to you on that" he would be shown the door in a New York minute.

No actual plans to obtain any actual benefit it required for Congress to appropriet money.

Why?

Because nobody in USA is authorized to tell Congress how to do its work.

Congress can be as crazy as it wants to be.

It can spend Trillion, get nothing and say "Crazy as I wanna be hahahahaha"

The public is always misled.

The problem is not the spending level. It’s the total and complete lack of getting anything in exchange for that spending. It’s the gettting level, which is zero, that’s a big problem. The country isn’t getting anything except a Chinese Fire drill in Iraq, and another one in Afghanistan, and a VA medical care system that does not work, and the Obamacare Chinese Fire Drill that will cost everybody a bundle and deliver not one single thing to anybody ever.

Making America Succeed is a matter of good venture capitalist skills. If there can be a GAO, why can’t there be a GMO (General Management Office) to make sure Congress gets somehting for the money it spends. We need to go beyond "Accounting" and all the way to Fair Market Value Purchases, what used to be called Contracting Oversight.

Congress has no Contracting Oversight so it spends the People’s money very foolishly, and spends its time taking bribes, arranging future bribes, making tedious speeches about how great the members are, praising each other, reading phony material into the record, and passing earmarks for its buddies and campaign contributors (and we can’t tell because they are secret thanks to Citizen United (Scalia the thug at work)).

Teapot Dome was a squared away and morally straight organization compared to today’s Congress, which is like a house of easy women on old Bourbon street.

And it’s all on your credit card. Is that right? Do you approve of that?

Can my Lebara card be used in USA?

I got this Lebara card when I was in Barcelona and used it there to make calls back at home. Well when I landed from the plane the service started switch into ATT and then it changed to T-Mobile. Can I still use this card to make calls or use it as a T-Mobile Sim card now?
