I’m coming to the US soon and want to take my phone, but there’s no point taking my British sim card as international roaming on a foreign sim card costs a rediculous amount. Also, calling from a hotel costs way too much so how much could I get a prepay sim for in the US and how much should I expect to pay per minute to call back to the UK?

Also, is a non-resident permitted to by a prepay sim card in the US? I know some countries don’t allow it, or at least make it very diffult to by it.
